A business executive and computer systems innovator since the early 1960s, Mr. Batt uses his extensive background in management and advanced computer technologies to develop tactical and strategic solutions to solve "real world" business problems. His experience encompasses a diverse range of businesses including the apparel industry, steel manufacturing, newspaper, computer hardware and software, retail, and education.
Mr. Batt served at the Carnegie Institute of Technology as a developer of computer language compilers, and as a senior executive at companies such as U.S. Steel Corporation and L.B. Foster Company, where he designed and implemented optimization and simulation programs and advanced information handling systems.
Mr. Batt also served as chairman and founder of a software development firm that designed and introduced award-winning software for personal computers. He was also president of a consulting firm specializing in the redesign and implementation of information systems for troubled companies, and has been appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania to review the state's data processing and communications systems. He has worked with Grisanti, Galef & Goldress since 1986.
Mr. Batt holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in computer science and has taught at the college level.
